 A Threat Unspecified This is another large lithograph created by the printing of 17 separate stones and photographic plates with two layers of 23 Karat gold leaf applied delicately by hand. The making of this print employed a variety of images gathered in the cities of London and Bruxelles, with my models Gary and Rand being photographed at home in Hawaii. Originally titled “False Prophets”, this idea proved to be problematic as most of my own personal false prophets, when filtered down to symbolic representations, became rather cliché. So, allowing myself to be inspired by Gary’s wary expression I chose to have his concerned look remain open to viewer interpretation. To me his wariness reflects a general concern for the pending trials we face in an increasingly dangerous and ever smaller world. H 44" X W 30" - "A Threat Unspecified” - $ 1,800 |
